This is a great and healthy way of enjoying a dessert, without feeling guilty due to too many calories or fats.
½ cup milk – dairy or non-dairy
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp maple syrup – honey, or monk fruit sweetener
½ tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings – roasted nuts, plain Greek yogurt, shredded coconut, dark chocolate chips, sliced bananas….
- Add ½ cup milk, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 Tbsp cocoa powder, 2 tsp maple syrup (or honey), and ½ tsp vanilla extract to a mason jar or bowl. Mix, seal with a lid and refrigerate for a minimum of 3 hours or even overnight.
- Add your selection of toppings before serving.
